Find Hub is one of the more important features that you can utilize on Android and Wear OS. You can keep track of compatible devices so that you know where they are at all times. Phones, smart tags, smartwatches, earbuds, and all kinds of products can be located.
Despite being available on Android and Wear OS, feature parity isn't always the same. 9to5Google reports that Find Hub on Wear OS is getting a nice feature upgrade that will allow users to locate individuals directly from the watch.
Find People on your smartwatch
Find People is a feature that's been live on Find Hub for Android for some time, but now that feature is finding its way to Wear OS smartwatch users. You can activate this feature directly from your Wear OS smartwatch, allowing your friends and family members to know your location.
This is real-time location data, and it can be used to navigate to that individual, or you can just request a location from someone if you'd like. Naturally, a feature like this can be a nightmare to manage, so Google has a lot of different features to keep users safe. A user has the choice to immediately stop sharing their location when they want.
Users can also block users and hide them on the map as well. There are also a variety of filters that can be used. 9to5Google notes that for now, there doesn't seem to be a map view for this feature on Wear OS. Instead, the app redirects users to use their phone in order to see people in the map view.
We know that Wear OS is capable, so it's unclear why this isn't implemented. If you're interested in giving it a try, you can download the latest version of the Find Hub from the Google Play Store. The news outlet was able to get it to work with version 1.0.429.0.
Give it a try on Android
If you've never tried out Find Hub, we highly recommend it. You can just download the app from the Google Play Store and give it a go. No special equipment is needed if you're just going to be using your phone for location transmission.
Next time you're going to meet with friends, share your location for a bit to make them know you're heading their way. And you can even share your location so that it's easier for them to find you.
You can even secure, lock, and erase devices from Find Hub if needed. Find Hub can even provide an alert from a tracker that's not yours. You can even take things further by sharing your location using satellite. This comes in handy if you're off the grid and need to keep in touch with people.
