The rain poured heavily last Wednesday night, but that didn’t stop the fans of HONNE from seeing the British electronic duo celebrate 10 years of music in Manila.

And was it worth getting soaked? Absolutely.

On August 12, fans gathered at the PICC Plenary Hall to catch HONNE perform live on the final day of their 10th anniversary tour in Manila. Much like the first two days, the show was sold out, with fans, who were all dressed to the nines, filled the venue to the brim to celebrate a decade of the duo’s music.

Even before the lights dimmed, the anticipation inside the hall was palpable. Everyone was excited to take a trip down memory lane with Andy Clutterbuck and James Hatcher, the duo behind the music that became the soundtrack of many people’s lives.

Setting the mood for the night was British singer-songwriter BEKA. It’s safe to say that her performance was a fitting introduction to the evening. With her soulful sound, she indeed gave fans a taste of the intimate concert experience that awaited them.

And as BEKA wrapped up her set, the excitement inside the venue only grew stronger. Fans knew they were just moments away from seeing HONNE.

When the time had come for the duo, the entire hall erupted with cheers and screams. They kicked off with ‘The Night,’ wasting no time in taking the audience on a journey through their 10-year musical career.

The duo’s set pulled mainly from their recent album, ‘HONNE — 10,’ a special re-recording project that featured reimagined versions of some of their most beloved songs, including ‘Feels So Good,’ ‘Location Unknown,’ ‘free love,’ ‘Someone That Loves You,’ and ‘Good Together,’ among others.

As the familiar melodies of HONNE’s songs rang in the air, fans couldn’t help but sing along to every word and danced their feet off—from the beginning up to their encore, where they performed ‘Warm on a Cold Night’ and ‘Day 1.’

These particular moments made the show special and personal, so much so that it touched the hearts of HONNE.

“This is the last day of the tour. It’s kinda sad, but what a place to end it, hey! And what good people to end it with,” said the duo.

“If this is what 10 years look like, then we’ll very, very happily do 10 more years—that’s for sure,” they continued, promising their Filipino fans to return to the Philippines soon as they described it as the “best place on Earth.”

With this promise, fans then cheered one last time for HONNE as they were also happy to celebrate another decade with the duo.

Outside, the rain was still pouring hard. But for the fans inside the plenary hall, the atmosphere was very warm despite a cold night—all because of HONNE.
