The fourth international conference of the Society of Endoscopic Otorhinolaryngologists (SEO) ‘SEOCON 2026 Mangaluru’ will be held in Mangaluru from August 20-23.

Organised jointly by the Departments of ENT, Head and Neck Surgery at Kasturba Medical College and K. S. Hegde Medical Academy, Mangaluru, the conference will be held at Avatar Hotel and Convention Centre, Attavar. It will be inaugurated at 7 p.m. on August 21.

Addressing press persons in Mangaluru on August 18, D. Deviprasad, Professor and Head, Department of ENT, KMC and Vadisha Bhat, Professor and Head, Department of ENT, KSHEMA, who are organising president and secretary, respectively, said that the SEO is a working group fully governed, managed and operated by ETHENTS. It is committed to promoting the advancement of endoscopic otorhinolaryngology through ongoing innovation, collaborative efforts, research and development of new surgical tools, instruments and techniques. It aims to support otorhinolaryngologists worldwide in enhancing surgical practices and improving patient outcomes.

The theme of the conference is ‘Endoscope to Microscope, ENTHNS, Innovation and Beyond’.

Milind V. Kirthane, an eminent ENT and Cochlear implant surgeon from Mumbai, who is a Padma Shri and Dr. B. C. Roy awardee, will be the chief guest at the inaugural session. He has performed over 3,000 Cochlear Implant surgeries, and set up over 70 Cochlear Implant centres across India for training ENT surgeons.

They said that about 400 delegates from across the country and abroad are expected to attend the event. It will feature over 100 prominent national and international guest speakers addressing the delegates in the form of demonstration of surgery, orations, panel discussions, and hands-on cadaveric dissections. They will be covering various sub-specialties of ENT such as Otology, Endoscopic Ear Surgery, Neuro-Otology, Implant Otology, Skull Base Surgery, Allergy and Endoscopic Thyroid Surgery.

There will be lectures on innovations, simulation devices, and AI in ENT.

The event is expected to give delegates an opportunity to discuss with experts various issues that they face in their day-to-day practice. This will, in turn, help the patients at large as ENT specialists will be able to provide better care to their patients, they said.
