This is stated in the Program for the Governance of the Republic of Bulgaria for 2026–2030, Ukrinform reports.
“Implementation of official development assistance as an instrument of foreign policy – focused primarily on the Western Balkans, Ukraine, Moldova and regions where Bulgaria has a specific interest and expertise,” the Program states.
The deadline for implementing this objective is December 2029.
As part of the same foreign policy priority, Bulgaria plans to expand economic partnerships and support Bulgarian businesses abroad.
In addition, Sofia intends to attract investment in high-value-added sectors, including microelectronics, artificial intelligence, the defense industry and energy.
A separate section of the Bulgarian government program concerns support for Bulgarian communities abroad, including in Ukraine. The document states that by December 2026, the Bulgarian government plans to establish a bilateral mixed commission on the rights of the Bulgarian national minority in Ukraine.
