Sigma, the directorial debut of Jason Sanjay, has a new release date. The Sundeep Kishan-starrer, which was earlier scheduled to hit theatres on July 31, was postponed following the rescheduling of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay’s Jana Nayagan to July 23.

Sanjay, Vijay's son, makes his directorial debut with Sigma. Lyca Productions, the banner behind Sigma, took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce the development. “Mark the date for the heist,” wrote Lyca. Sigma will now hit the screens on October 02, 2026.

Produced by Subaskaran, the film is touted to be a high-stakes heist thriller. Sanjay has previously revealed that the film combines elements of action, comedy, treasure hunt, and heist.

Sundeep Kishan plays the lead in Sigma. Faria Abdullah, Raju Sundaram, Sampath Raj, Shiv Panditt, Anbu Thasan, Yog Japee, Magalakshmi, Sheela Rajkumar, Kamalesh and Kiran Konda. Kaleel Raja, Sanjeev S and Ajaiy Ashok are the other actors in the movie.

Thaman S is the music composer, while Krishnan Vasant has handled cinematography. Venkat and Selva have choreographed the stunts for the movie. Praveen KL is the editor. The film has been shot across several locations, including Chennai, Thailand, Thalakona and Salem.

Plenty of films are set for release on October 02, on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. Vijay Sethupathi’s Baththa and Lokesh Kanagaraj-presented Mr Bhaarath might hit the screens during that week. Both movies had to be postponed due to the release of Jana Nayagan. Ram’s Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai, starring Nivin Pauly and Soori, will release a day before Sigma on October 01, 2026.
