Eight farmers from Penumaka have voluntarily contributed 7.10 acres of land under the Land Pooling Scheme (LPS) for the development of the capital city in Amaravati, the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) said on Wednesday.
The farmers submitted their consent letters to APCRDA Additional Commissioner Kollabattula Karthik, at the authority’s headquarters in Rayapudi, expressing willingness to hand over their lands for capital development works.
Penumaka Special Deputy Collector K. Sudharani attended the programme.
Of the 7.10 acres pooled, 0.54 acres fall under the LPS zones being developed for farmers in the capital region, while 3.07 acres have been earmarked for the proposed trunk road network and 2.12 acres for flood management projects.
The village is part of the Amaravati LPS 1 and some of the villagers didn't participate in the scheme before 2019.
