She calls herself Miss Americana - so it's perhaps no wonder that Taylor Swift is looking to USA style icons like Jackie Kennedy for her latest looks.

From marrying an NFL player on the fourth of July to writing a country song for a Disney movie, the once Britain-obsessed Pennsylvania-native couldn't have swum further across the pond if she tried after tying the knot with Travis Kelce.

And now, it's showing in her looks, with big hair, pearls and 50s A-line skirts reminiscent of retro US summer fashion.

This weekend, she was in full Southern Belle mode as she donned a navy blue Costarellos gown, embroidered with gold leaves and flowers, for her friends Oli Jacobs and Laura Sisk's wedding in Gloucestershire on Saturday.

She accessorised with a pearl necklace and bracelet but her huge diamond engagement ring, estimated to be ten carats, and valued at approximately $1million, stole the show as it sat next to her new gold wedding band.

The singer, who was more than a decade ago also rumoured to have had a brief romance with Conor Kennedy - also showed off a fresh new hairstyle, accentuated by lots of volume and a dramatic side-swept fringe not dissimilar to that of JFK's late wife.

'Taylor is definitely leaning into the polished, feminine aesthetic associated with Jackie Kennedy,' stylist Lisa Talbot told the Daily Mail.

'Particularly the A-line silhouettes, ladylike dresses, pearls, structured accessories and carefully styled hair.

'There’s a very deliberate sense of polish to these looks, rather than anything feeling overly casual or undone.

'But I think there’s more going on than simply Jackie O. There’s a strong 1950s/60s American influence running through it too, think Southern Belle, classic Americana and a very feminine interpretation of the era.

It is perhaps no wonder that Taylor's all-American look began to evolve two years ago, when she began to spend even more time in the US after starting a relationship with her now-husband

'The full skirts, fitted waists, big hair and pearls all contribute to that nostalgic, almost picture-perfect version of American femininity.'

The star also channelled the former Mrs Onassis this spring, in an all white ensemble strolling around New York City.

Casual, understated - but sophisticated - it was reminiscent of the then-First Lady's structured shift dresses and mini skirts.

In May, while out and about with Travis, she also channelled White House-chic in a flowy, floral Dôen dress.

It is perhaps no wonder that Taylor's all-American look began to evolve two years ago, when she began to spend even more time in the US after starting a relationship with her now-husband.

During one of their first public outings at the US Open in 2024, she was the image of Jackie in 1960.

Taylor sported trendy cat-eye sunglasses and a red gingham dress from Reformation, mirroring Jacqueline in Hyannis Port, in the summer of 1960, wearing the pattern in yellow.

During her Eras Tour concerts that same year, one of the reccurring costumes was a golden flowy gown from Alberta Ferretti.

Lisa said however, that Taylor is 'doing it very well', because her looks don't come across as playing dress-up

Taylor has been channelling Jackie's more low-key looks too

The romantic silhouette is comparable to Jackie's famous Valentino frock, which she wore at the Metropolitan Opera House in 1973.

It's not just dresses - some of Taylor's more casual looks have been reminiscent of Mrs Kennedy too.

It includes structured blouses and tops - always cinched at the waist - with flowy trousers or jeans.

Lisa said however, that Taylor is 'doing it very well', because her looks don't come across as playing dress-up.

'She's not simply recreating a vintage look. She’s taking recognisable elements from the era and making them feel relevant to her now,' the fashion expert shared.

'The key to making retro-inspired dressing work is not to look like you’re wearing a costume. Taylor understands that. She’ll take the silhouette, the hair or the accessories and then balance them with something more contemporary.

'That said, I’d love to see her occasionally break away from the very polished, hyper-feminine aesthetic.

'There are so many interesting women from that era she could draw from Diana Vreeland’s influence, Jane Birkin’s effortless style, or even the more pared-back sophistication of Audrey Hepburn. It would give her wardrobe a little more contrast.'

She added: 'I think Taylor is definitely amplifying it because of the very American chapter she’s currently in. There’s something quite intentional about the combination of the Americana references, her relationship with the NFL and the very all-American imagery surrounding her life at the moment.

'But the wider return to 50s and 60s-inspired dressing is definitely happening too. We’re seeing a real appetite for more feminine silhouettes, polished dressing and pieces that feel nostalgic rather than disposable.

'What I think is particularly interesting is that women are increasingly looking back at previous decades for inspiration rather than simply following whatever is "new". And that’s something I always encourage, take the elements that work for your personality, body shape and lifestyle rather than copying the whole look.

'Taylor’s doing exactly that: she’s created a very recognisable style language that feels connected to the moment she’s in.'
