Hyderabad-based EBG Group is developing a 55-acre integrated wellness ecosystem in Ongole with a proposed investment of ₹45 crore. The multi-sector business conglomerate has partnered with London-based Carlton Wellness Retreat to make the Tier-2 city a nature-led premium hospitality destination in Andhra Pradesh.

Spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, founder of The Art of Living, laid the foundation stone for Carlton Wellness Retreat, Sri Sri Panchakarma and Tattva Centre, and Sri Sri Ravishankar Vidya Mandir at Sai Vishnu Chaturvatika in Chadalavada on the Chirala-Ongole road on Wednesday. The proposed project will bring together hospitality, preventive wellness and education in one place.

Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Mr. Ravi Shankar said, “People need wellness to be healthy, and a wellness centre will help prevent them from going to a hospital. Along with the wellness centre for the adults, an international school is also coming up in Ongole to provide world-class education to the children.”

Speaking to The Hindu, EBG Group co-founder Hari Kiran said, “We chose Ongole as Buddhism once flourished in this region. As per our research, the Chirala-Ongole belt is historically known for learning and meditation. We are trying to develop an ecosystem with wellness-led hospitality, ayurveda, holistic education and nature-based living.”

“In the 55-acre land, we are developing 1.05-lakh-square-feet wellness centre, comprising 36 plots and 35 two-bedroom villas. It will have all luxury amenities, including a helipad, low-density setting for wellness-led living, and landscaped surroundings. It will offer physician-guided Panchakarma, rejuvenation and preventive wellness programmes to the guests for 1 to 3 weeks,” he added.
