T. Cavallaro & Sons
Bakery$
This venue is one of Good Food’s 100 Essential Melbourne Cafes and Bakeries of 2026.
What the Cavallaro family manages to churn out of this piccola pasticceria is testament to the deep bonds that power this institution of the west, which recently celebrated 70 years in business. Customers come for weekly orders of almond-meal biscuits, weighed and carefully packed into boxes, or festive panettone and Easter treats when the holidays roll around. Others drive across town for cannoli with blistered crusts and smooth ricotta piped inside. All leave with a smile.
Good to know: Some items, such as rum baba and sfogliatelle pastries, are available only at weekends. Order ahead.
Good Food reviews are booked anonymously and paid independently. A restaurant can’t pay for a review or inclusion in the Good Food Guide.
