Maji Pantry

Japanese$

This venue is one of Good Food’s 100 Essential Melbourne Cafes and Bakeries of 2026.

This cute corner konbini (Japanese convenience store) is a step above your usual grab-and-go joint. Made-to-order onigiri come generously stuffed with fillings such as kimchi and wagyu beef, and come in under $10. Pillowy sandos like the creamy tamago egg and juicy pork katsu never miss the mark. Factor in friendly service, sunny interiors, and a soft and clubby soundtrack and you’ll find Maji hard to leave and easy to come back to.

Must-order: Peanut cream latte ($8.50) is a delicious dessert and pick-me-up in one.
