Vessev, the Auckland maker of electric hydrofoiling boats, has raised $32.6 million to expand its production and exports.

The start-up sold its first 10-passenger, quiet-running VS-9 (the “9″ stands for 9 metres) last year.

More recently it made sales in Hobart, Perth and Sydney, chief executive Eric Laakmann said.
