There are two big games starring Wolverine coming out this year. Of course, thereâs his solo game coming from Insomniac. And in addition to his starring role in that one, heâs on the roster in Arc System Worksâ fighter Marvel TÅkon: Fighting Souls. If thereâs one thing Marvel loves, itâs brand synergy, and as such, both studios are putting costumes based on the otherâs version of Wolverine into their games. Seeing the TÅkon suit in Insomniacâs game finally put the âIs Logan short enough in Wolverine?â debate to rest, because that is a short king.
News of this cross-pollination comes from the Marvelâs Wolverine: Deep Cuts panel at San Diego Comic Con, where Insomniac talked about the upcoming action game, showed a new trailer for it, and also revealed concept art for the TÅkon and Wolverine suit swap. While we havenât seen either of them in-game yet, thereâs enough here to get a sense of what theyâll look like. The TÅkon one that Insomniac is adding to its game appears to be cel-shaded to match the style of Arc System Worksâ fighter, so I guess heâll look a bit out of place in the photorealistic world. I will probably not be wearing it when I play through Wolverine, but one thing I am happy to see is that Loganâs proportions in it quiet the concerns Iâve had that he might be portrayed as a man tall enough to reach the top shelf. This oneâs for us, 5â5â-and-unders!
Some of the shots we see of him with Jean Grey in the story trailer also make it clear that my guy is barely able to ride a roller coaster.

The TÅkon take on Insomniacâs suit is a bit harder to get a grasp on at the moment, as all we have is art of the character on a white background. It looks good, though. Itâll come to the fighter after its August 6 launch in a September 1 update.
ð¨ð¨ð¨ ALSO! Marvel's Wolverine's Battle Reborn suit is coming to MARVEL TÅkon: Fighting Souls on September 1!
