These cheap Fitbit Air bands are better and cheaper than the official options

After a few months of daily wear with my Fog colored Fitbit Air, I hit a stage where I wanted some alternate accessories and, so, I took a punt on some cheap bands from Amazon, only to be blown away with how good they actually were.

My first bit of advice for anyone with the Fitbit Air is to go for a darker color than you usually would choose. The default fabric band on the Fog color is especially bad for staining and picking up dirt, not to mention that, because it’s an off-white-blue color, it almost looks like faded denim, and if you’ve ever owned a light pair of jeans, you’ll know how quickly they can look dirty. As much as I loved it when I picked one up, I regret choosing this option for that reason.

Wearing in the gym, in bed, going for a run, just general day-to-day tasks like cooking and whatnot have already taken a toll on the fabric band. I managed to stain the band just washing my hands while at a gig a few weeks ago, as the liquid soap was such a deep green color that I now have a patchwork of discolored sections that, I’ll be honest, looks gross.

At launch, there were not many alternative options to the vastly overpriced official Fitbit Air bands, at well over $30. We’ve seen some really cool mods and attachments to integrate the tracker into classic watch bands and more. The reality is that most of us just want a nice, cheap band that’ll do the job.

So after staining my band and being patient, Amazon is now littered with cheap alternatives to throw the Fitbit Air “pebble” in and then adorn your wrist with. I took a punt on a few, and I’m actually blown away by how high-quality they are. I don’t think I’ll bother picking up an official option again now.

In the UK, we don’t have access to the official Stephen Curry strap. So this has been a way to get a solid replica that is like 95% of the way there. Not quite 100% as the metal clasp isn’t quite the same color, but that isn’t too big of a deal anyway.

I picked up a double pack of bands from a brand called “iBesky,” but I feel like an idiot because it looks like the company does a triple pack in the US. I paid around $23 for two with exchange rates, which I thought was excellent value for money. After a few weeks of wear, I doubt I’ll go back to the official bands that came with my Fitbit Air, and if, like me, you regret the color you chose, then try these out for size. I highly, highly recommend them, and I’ll be trying some more in the coming weeks.
