Apple is cutting jobs across multiple teams, according to a new Bloomberg report. All told, the company has cut more than 200 jobs across teams working on Vision Pro, Siri, and software engineering.
In a statement, an Apple spokesperson said the changes were made “to evolve our business to deliver the best experiences for our users.”
“While we will create new roles as part of this change, it will also impact a limited number of existing roles. We are grateful to these team members for their contributions, and we are committed to supporting them throughout their transition, including opportunities to apply for other roles at Apple.”
The report says around 100 of the job cuts come from the Vision Pro group. As part of this, Apple is “largely shutting down a Vision Pro team focused on gaming.” The company is also scaling back the team working on producing Immersive Video for Vision Pro.
Going forward, Apple still plans to produce “a smaller number of videos in-house” and will also encourage third parties to create immersive content.

The company has told employees that the Vision Pro and its visionOS operating system aren’t going away. In the near term, however, Apple is focused on launching smart glasses that wouldn’t support immersive video or advanced gaming titles. The company is still considering a new Vision Pro model for release as early as the end of 2028, Bloomberg News has reported.
Meanwhile, Apple has also cut around 100 positions from its Siri and software teams.
The Siri reorganization is related to the launch of Siri AI, the report says. Apple’s new Siri AI platform is built on a revamped technical architecture, which changes “the necessary expertise” required for the Siri team. Apple therefore decided to “eliminate a small number of existing roles, reallocate resources and create new positions supporting the updated Siri.”
Apple’s “Intelligent Systems Experience team” is also impacted by these cuts.
The changes to the Intelligent Systems Experience team reflect an effort to reorganize work on AI-powered capabilities. As more groups bring AI functions to apps, features and services, Apple is realigning teams to match priorities and accelerate development. The restructuring will eliminate some existing positions while creating new roles.
Today’s Bloomberg report builds on an earlier report that said Apple had laid off around 60 employees from the Vision Pro team.
