The Muslim World League has condemned Israel's announcement of a tender for the construction of 1,234 settlement units under its so-called E1 settlement plan in the occupied West Bank.

Secretary-General and Chairman of the Muslim Scholars Association, Mohammed Al-Issa said the project poses a threat to Palestinian statehood and is aimed at altering the geographic and demographic character of the occupied Palestinian territroy.

He further called for international pressure to halt Israel's settlement policies and preserve a two-state solution.
