It seems as if everyone under the sun is in Fortnite. If you think of a random franchise, there’s a good chance that one of its characters is already in the game. However, there are a few exceptions. There are a few iconic characters that have yet to be included. That can all change in the future, but as of right now, there are some notable characters missing in Fortnite. Here are 5 franchises that have surprisingly not collabed with Fortnite - yet.

5 Franchises That Have Not Collabed With Fortnite

  • Spawn
  • Final Fantasy
  • One Piece
  • Nintendo
  • Grand Theft Auto

1. Spawn

There’s already a lot of iconic comic book characters in Fortnite, mostly from DC and Marvel. However, they do have some characters that were published by Image Comics, most notably The Walking Dead characters and Invincible characters. But when talking about iconic characters that were published under the Image Comics umbrella that should be in Fortnite, no one has a better case than Spawn himself.

Spawn is a Hellspawn who is returned to the land of the living to kill any criminals and evildoers that come his way. Since his debut back in the early 90s, Spawn has been an incredibly popular character. He’s had his own live-action movie, an animated series, and he’s crossed over with popular video game franchises like Soulcalibur and Mortal Kombat. It’s surprising that a character this popular has yet to be in Fortnite.

Similarly, other popular comic book characters that aren’t in Fortnite are Homelander and Butcher from The Boys universe. One day, maybe.

2. Final Fantasy

One of the most well-known franchises in video game history, it’s surprising that Final Fantasy has never had one of its characters in Fortnite. They have a ton of popular characters from its different installments that they could pull from, but today, I’m specifically talking about the characters from Final Fantasy 7.

Ask somebody to name a Final Fantasy character, and they’ll most likely name somebody from FF7. Tifa, Cloud, Sephiroth, and Aerith could be described as the faces of the entire franchise. And to see that they haven’t been included yet is a shock. That could all change relatively soon, though. Final Fantasy VII Revelation comes out next year, so maybe we’ll see a collab between the two games then.

3. One Piece

Fortnite has collabed with Dragon Ball, Naruto, Attack on Titan, and many more mangas/animes. But if you look through all these collabs, there is one that is obviously missing. One that stands shoulder to shoulder with other iconic Japanese franchises. Of course, I’m talking about One Piece.

Fortnite is extremely popular. One Piece is extremely popular. It seems like a match made in heaven. And yet, it still hasn’t happened. With how big these two juggernauts are, it’s only a matter of time until they finally meet. Out of all the franchises on this list, I think One Piece is most likely to collab with Fortnite in the near future. I have full faith that we’ll one day see Luffy and Nami squading up with Kim Kardashian and Batman.

4. Nintendo

I debated whether I should put Nintendo as a whole on this list, because, on the one hand, it’s not surprising that no Nintendo character is in Fortnite. Nintendo is notoriously protective of its properties. On the other hand, it is notable that no Nintendo character has ever been in Fortnite, and if I’m making a list of franchises that have yet to collab with Fortnite, Nintendo is at the tippy top of that list.

With all that being said, I don’t ever see a future where Nintendo agrees to collab with Fortnite. I don’t think Nintendo would ever entertain the idea of having their characters appear on other consoles like PlayStation, Xbox, and even PC. Which is a shame because I would love to see Fox McCloud and Samus Aran in the game. And the cuter characters like any of the Pokémon and Yoshi could be added as sidekicks. I admit that this is all wishful thinking, but it doesn’t hurt to wish.

5. Grand Theft Auto

Some characters look out of place in Fortnite because they would never be the type to run around with guns shooting people down. That’s not a problem with the characters of this franchise.

GTA has never collabed with Fortnite, and that’s a fact that shocked me so much, I had to double-check to make sure that was correct. It just seems like something that would make sense: Fortnite x GTA. But for whatever reason, it hasn’t happened yet.

GTA 6 is on the horizon, and it’s set to be one of the biggest video games ever, so maybe we’ll get a collaboration with the main characters of that game when it comes out. But if I’m talking about what I would personally love to see, I would love to see CJ and Big Smoke in Fortnite. Just for old times’ sake.
