The 37th edition of the payasam festival organised by Kerala Tourism Development Corporation (KTDC) has begun at Grand Chaithram, Thampanoor and will be on till August 26, Thiruvonam day. The varieties available include ada pradhaman, paal payasam, palada, navarasa payasam, carrot payasam etc, besides specials such as pineapple payasam, pazham payasam, parippu pradhaman, mambazha payasam and wheat payasam that are available on designated days. The counter is open from 9am to 8pm till August 25 and from 9am to 1pm on August 26. Payasams cost ₹460 per litre and ₹230 for half litre.
Onasadya will be served at KTDC Mascot Hotel and KTDC Grand Chaithram on August 25 and 26. Tme: 11am to 2.30pm.
Meanwhile payasam mela is also on at various other properties of KTDC such as Bolgatty Palace and Island Resort, Kochi, and Malabar Courtyard, Muppilangu, Kannur, Folk Land, Parassinikkadavu, Kannur, Loom Land, Kannur, and Rain Drops, Chennai.

Vegetables sourced from the hotel’s organic garden, Aaramam, will go into the sadya dishes. On August 25, sadya will be served from 12 noon to 3pm. Thiruvonam day will showcase grand celebration as guests will be welcomed with chendamelam and pulikali.
