District Collector Sumit Kumar on Saturday (August 22, 2026) instructed the concerned officials to make foolproof arrangements to ensure that every devotee has darshan of Sri Varasiddhi Vinayaka Swamy in Kanipakam during the annual Brahmotsavams from September 14 to October 10.

The Collector held a coordination meeting with MLA Murali Mohan, Superintendent of Police Tushar Dadi, EO Penchala Kishore, and others regarding the conduct of the annual Brahmotsavams at the conference hall of the temple Executive Officer’s (EO) office.

Speaking on the occasion, the Collector directed the Revenue, Police, Panchayat Raj, R&B, Medical and Health, and other relevant departments to work in coordination to ensure that the event is a success. He called for stringent security measures at the temple entrance and instructed officials from the Electricity, Police, Fire, and Medical Departments, including doctors and medical staff, to perform their duties round the clock. He also directed the establishment of a control room under the supervision of the RDO, DSP, and Executive Officer.

The DM&HO was directed to arrange medical camps, ambulances, and skilled doctors under the supervision of the Medical Department. Officials were ordered to set up mobile toilets and provide safe drinking water for devotees in the town. APSRTC officials were asked to operate buses connecting the temple town to Chittoor.

Chittoor MLA K. Murali Mohan directed that strict security measures be implemented around the temple during the Brahmotsavams, using drone cameras and ‘man-pack’ security systems. Ambulances and wheelchairs must be kept available to provide emergency medical treatment to devotees in the queue lines, if any health issues arise. He suggested installation of new transformers, if necessary, to ensure an uninterrupted power supply.

Mr. Tushar Dudi said robust security measures are being implemented for the Brahmotsavams. Adequate police personnel will be deployed at key locations including the temple premises, temple tank, bus stand, and surrounding areas especially during the Rathotsavam and Pushpa Pallaki Utsavam. A Central Command Control Room will be established to ensure round-the-clock police surveillance and duty, he added.
