Gianni Infantino dodges reporters’ questions to make bald jokes

Gianni Infantino dodged questions over whether he ‘betrayed’ football through his ill-fated plan to sell off the World Cup, with a series of jokes about a reporter’s baldness.

Tracked down in the Dominican Republic by Sky News, after a summer in which a series of football associations have withdrawn their support for the FIFA president, correspondent James Matthews asked why he had not yet stepped down.

“You have a nice haircut,” said Infantino - whose own head of hair, or lack thereof, is not too dissimilar to Matthews’ - before adding: “I’ll see you at the hairdressers.”
