Firefighters working on large vegetation fire in Invercargill
Firefighters are working to put out a 600 metre long blaze on Oreti Beach in Invercargill.
The south shift manager said vegetation fire is rather large, with firefighters working against the wind and rain.
Officials have been working to extinguish the fire for more than three hours, after they were alerted just after 3am.
Six pump fire trucks are on the scene, along with two water tank trucks and other support vehicles.
