I’m a ‘Vada Chennai’ girl born and raised here in Moolakadai. Growing up, I have been a huge movie buff and watching films in Brinda Theatre, Shanmuga Theatre, and Odiyan Mani are some of my earliest and best memories of Madras.

When I started my graduation in Stella Maris College, I would ride my two-wheeler from Moolakadai to Cathedral Road. With barely any traffic congestion, the entire stretch dotted with numerous trees and it used to be a pleasure to ride back and forth every day. Also, I would often go to the beach with my parents back then and it was one of my most cherished outings.

Then, after joining the Indian Administrative Services and travelling across the country, I returned as the Managing Director of Kamarajar Port. For someone who loves the sea, it was a surreal feeling to be at the helm of the port operations. The beach lends a unique charm to our city.

Chennai embraces everyone who comes here, celebrates many traditions, arts, cuisines and has an unmatched vibrancy.
