The Ernakulam Rural police arrested three migrants with 3.50 kg of suspected ganja while being smuggled in a scooter. All three were from Murshidabad in West Bengal.
The seizure was made in a combined operation by the Ernakulam Rural District Anti-Narcotics Special Action Force and the Paravur police as part of the ongoing anti-drug campaign Operation Toofan. The three were intercepted while smuggling suspected ganja from where they stayed.
According to the police, the suspected contraband was bought from Odisha for sale among migrant workers. It was reportedly bought for ₹3,000 per kg, eyeing a ten-fold profit through sale here.
