That is according to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Ukrinform reports.
According to the ministry, PURL has become one of the key mechanisms for meeting Ukraine's critical needs for U.S.-made weapons and defense equipment.
Over the past year, 29 countries have joined the initiative – 26 NATO member states and three partner countries. Total contributions have reached $6.7 billion, enabling the funding of more than ten weapons packages for Ukraine's Defense Forces.
One of PURL's most important achievements has been providing Ukraine with interceptors for Patriot air defense systems. These are critically important for protecting cities, civilians and critical infrastructure from Russian ballistic attacks.
Today, around 95% of the interceptors for Patriot systems, such as PAC-3 missiles, are supplied to Ukraine through the PURL mechanism.
PURL, or the Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List, is a U.S.-NATO initiative that enables NATO member states and partner countries to fund the delivery of critical U.S.-made weapons and equipment to Ukraine.
The mechanism, launched in July 2025, operates on the basis of a prioritized requirements list identified by Ukraine and agreed upon with the United States and NATO. The list includes weapons that are critically needed on the battlefield and cannot always be quickly replaced with European equivalents.

In 2025-2026, the largest contributions under PURL were made by Norway – $1.36 billion; the Netherlands – $1.163 billion; Germany – $900 million; Canada – $834 million; and Sweden – $546 million.
The Ukrainian Defense Ministry also explained how the PURL mechanism works.
Ukraine identifies the critical needs of its Defense Forces, including air defense systems, interceptor missiles, artillery ammunition and other strategic components.
Ukraine, the United States and NATO then agree on packages of U.S.-made weapons worth approximately $500 million each.
NATO member states and partner countries subsequently make financial contributions to the joint package. The United States uses these funds to supply Ukraine with the necessary weapons, equipment and ammunition.
PURL helps meet critical battlefield needs more quickly. The mechanism enables partners' resources to be used as efficiently and precisely as possible – for what Ukraine needs most urgently at a given time.
PURL also simplifies administrative coordination. Partners' contributions are pooled around agreed priorities, reducing duplication of efforts and increasing the effectiveness of assistance.
Air defense remains one of Ukraine's top defense priorities. Russia is intensifying ballistic missile attacks on Ukrainian cities and critical infrastructure. To counter this threat, Ukraine needs interceptor missiles for Patriot systems.
PURL directly affects Ukraine's ability to intercept Russian ballistic missiles and save lives.
To ensure a stable supply of critical weapons to Ukraine, regular contributions from partners are needed. This will allow the Defense Forces' needs to be addressed systematically, including requirements for air defense missiles, artillery ammunition and other types of equipment that have a direct impact on the battlefield situation.
Ukraine's Defense Ministry expressed gratitude to the United States, NATO, the teams supporting the PURL mechanism, and all countries contributing to the initiative.
As reported, Slovenia announced an additional $50 million contribution to the PURL initiative to supply U.S.-made weapons to Ukraine.
