The much-awaited trailer of Nitesh Tiwari’s RamayanaNamit Malhotra announced through a social media post on Friday (July 24, 2026). Meanwhile, Namit also announced that Sony Pictures has joined the mythological epic as the global distributor.
Taking to social media to make the announcement, Namit wrote, “Today is a very special moment for our Ramayana. My dream of taking Ramayana to the world is now a reality with our partnership with Sony Pictures Entertainment. In light of the above, we will be launching our trailer now globally at a later date.”
He added, “In over 100+ years of Indian cinema, this will become a moment of great pride where Ramayana will be shown to the entire world like any major global Hollywood film. This is special as it opens the door for people of the world to discover the richness of our culture and our stories with renewed pride and enthusiasm.”
The film’s trailer was scheduled to be released on Friday at 8 am. The new release date of the trailer was not announced.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Sunny Deol, Yash and Ravi Dubey in pivotal roles. It features music by AR Rahman and Hans Zimmer and lyrics by Kumar Vishwas. The mythological epic is written by Sridhar Raghavan and is among the most expensive Indian films ever made with the budget reportedly crossing Rs 4,000 crore.
Ramayana is produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios along with DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations. The first part in the series will be released in theatres on Diwali 2026 followed by the second part in 2027.
