Kia CEO Investor Day 2026 has laid out an ambitious roadmap for the brand’s future, with a sharp focus on emerging markets and India sits right at the centre of that plan. The Korean carmaker is targeting a significant scale-up in these regions, aiming to grow annual sales to 1.48 million units by 2030, up from roughly 1 million in 2025, while securing a 6.6 percent market share.

India, in particular, has been identified as a cornerstone market. Kia is aiming for annual sales of 4.1 lakh units here by the end of the decade, alongside a 7.6 percent market share. To support this growth, the company plans to expand its portfolio to 10 models, eight of which will feature electrified powertrains. These will include a mix of hybrids and EVs such as the upcoming Syros EV, Sorento Hybrid and Carnival Hybrid. Alongside product expansion, Kia also intends to scale up its retail footprint to 800 outlets across the country.

A major part of Kia’s India strategy revolves around strengthening its presence in the high-volume SUV space. The Kia Seltos and Kia Sonet will continue to lead this charge, with the brand targeting annual sales of over 2 lakh units each by 2030. This aligns with the broader importance of the B-SUV segment, which remains the largest contributor to volumes across emerging markets. To support demand, Kia is also doubling down on localisation and flexible manufacturing, including expanded CKD operations in markets like India, Mexico and China.

At the premium end, Kia is preparing to introduce more sophisticated offerings tailored for India. The Kia Sorento Hybrid is expected to arrive as a three-row SUV positioned above the Seltos, likely measuring close to 4.8 metres in length with a wheelbase around 2.8 metres. It is anticipated to feature a hybridised 1.5-litre petrol powertrain and could be priced in the vicinity of Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom). The model will cater to buyers seeking a larger, more premium family SUV, while also contributing to the brand’s electrification targets.

Similarly, the Kia Carnival Hybrid will bring electrification to Kia’s MPV lineup. While the India-spec details are yet to be confirmed, the global version pairs a 1.6-litre turbo-petrol engine with a hybrid system, producing a combined 272bhp and 367Nm, mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Its introduction will further strengthen Kia’s presence in the premium people-mover segment.

On the electric front, the Kia Syros EV is expected to be among the more accessible offerings in the brand’s EV portfolio. Positioned below the Carens Clavis EV, it will likely share its platform with the Hyundai Inster EV and could offer battery options similar to the latter’s 42kWh and 49kWh packs, with a claimed range of up to 369km. Pricing is expected to fall in the Rs 15–20 lakh bracket, placing it squarely against rivals like the Tata Nexon EV.
