The Parliament enters day 5 of the ongoing Monsoon Session on Friday (July 24, 2026) even as both Houses have not transacted any business commencing session proceedings on July 20. Both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha have been witnessing repeated adjournments and disruptions with the Opposition MPs pushing for a full-fledged discussion on the NEET paper ‘leak’ issue and the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju on Thursday (July 23, 2026) accused the Opposition of attaching “pre-conditions” and trying to run away from a debate on the NEET paper ‘leak’ issue. He added the government would also like to put across its point of view on the matter. Later in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a late-night video message posted on social media, promised that the government would discuss NEET paper leaks in Friday’s (July 24) Cabinet meeting and would bring a Bill in Parliament next week.

As per revised list of business, the Lok Sabha is expected to witness a debate on the Supreme Court (Number of Judges) Amendment Bill, 2026, for consideration and passing. The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) is also scheduled to present a series of critical reports.
