Andhra Pradesh Minister for Tourism, Culture and Cinematography Kandula Durgesh has said that the State government is organising Telugu Mahotsavam, a State-level cultural festival, to preserve the richness of the Telugu language and its cultural heritage for future generations.

Mr. Durgesh, along with Andhra Pradesh State Cultural and Creative Committee Chairperson Podapati Tejaswini, unveiled the official poster for the festival, which will be held at the historic Undavalli Caves, near Mangalagiri in Guntur district, on July 25 and 26.

Describing Telugu Mahotsavam as a unique celebration of the Telugu language and culture, the Minister said the event would bring together the language’s literary wealth, artistic traditions, folk heritage and creative excellence on a single platform. He said the festival aimed to inspire students and young people to appreciate the richness of their mother tongue and use Telugu more widely in their daily lives.

Expressing concern over the declining use of Telugu amid changing lifestyles and modern trends, Mr. Durgesh said the festival would help rekindle pride in the language and highlight its significance to a wider audience.

He appealed to students, youth, Telugu language enthusiasts and the public to participate in large numbers and make Telugu Mahotsavam a success, describing it as a collective effort to preserve and promote the State’s linguistic and cultural heritage.
