Disney inadvertently gave Julie Andrews fans a scare by posting an ethereal photo of the 90-year-old Mary Poppins star with a heartfelt caption that read 'Courage, resilience, grace.'

Many assumed the Hollywood actress had died.

A deluge of angry comments followed. Movie fans read the rest of the caption explaining how the post was merely a promotion for an upcoming Disney+ documentary.

'Why the f**k would you promote this like this????' one X user wrote, rapidly receiving nearly 2 million views.

'We all had the same reaction, jeez collective panic attack. She is so loved!' wrote an Instagram user.

'Can you please pick a better marketing strategy? I nearly fainted thinking we lost our treasure,' a fan on X griped.

Dozens of posts on both platforms expressed similar frustrations.

One X user quipped that 'Now that I'm breathing again, I'm excited for this documentary.'

The photo admittedly exuded an angelic undertone.

Andrews offered attendees of the seventh annual World Parkinson Congress conference a video message last May. She appeared to be in good health.

A source close to the Oscar winner told Woman's Day magazine at the time that Andrews was 'incredibly fit and healthy' for her age.

'At 90, of course she has her usual aches and pains and prefers the comforts of home, but she’s doing wonderfully.'

Andrews' last public appearance was in March 2023, when she attended the taping of Carol Burnett‘s NBC special, Carol Burnett: 90 Years of Laughter + Love.

Andrews' Disney+ documentary is set to be released sometime in 2027, Disney said. An official title has not been announced.

The doc will be directed and produced by R J Cutler, who has directed films about figures such as Martha Stewart, John Belushi and Elton John.

Disney says it will offer an 'intimate and revealing look at the legendary actress,' whose career began in British vaudeville.

Parts in The Sound of Music, The Princess Diaries, Bridgerton and more followed.

'Julie Andrews is not simply a beloved performer,' Cutler said in a statement. 'To sit with Julie, to be allowed into her inner world, to watch her reflect on a life that has shaped so many other lives, was an experience I will forever cherish.

'She gave us her full self, without armor, without pretense.

'And what we found was someone even more extraordinary than the icon.'
