After repeated complaints from residents and multiple warnings failed to stop the unauthorised dumping of construction and demolition (C&D) waste opposite the Deloitte campus in Gachibowli, the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) has initiated legal action by registering a First Information Report (FIR) against three persons, seizing the vehicles allegedly used in the operation and securing the site to prevent further violations.

The FIR, registered at Raidurgam Police Station on July 22, names Bamaiah, Prabhakar Reddy and Laxmaiah as the accused. The case has been booked under Sections 329(3) and 324(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 3 of the Prevention of Damage to Public Property (PDPP) Act. The offence occurred prior to 1 p.m. on July 22 at a site opposite Deloitte in Raidurgam. The complaint was lodged by the Deputy Commissioner, Madhapur Circle No. 50, CMC.

According to the complaint, unauthorised dumping of C&D waste had been taking place opposite Deloitte, particularly during the night hours. Despite repeated requests and instructions issued by the civic body to stop the illegal dumping, the activity allegedly continued at the same location.

The complaint stated that repeated field inspections and complaints from local residents revealed that the illegal dumping was causing environmental pollution, public inconvenience and obstruction to the free movement of traffic and pedestrians. During recent inspections, and based on credible local information, CMC officials identified Bamaiah, Prabhakar Reddy and Laxmaiah as the persons allegedly organising and carrying out the dumping, following which the civic body sought legal action against them.

The complaint letter, addressed to the Station House Officer of Raidurgam Police Station, also referred to an earlier communication dated July 7 through which the CMC had sought police intervention to prevent the illegal dumping. It stated that despite the request, dumping continued, particularly during the night. The Deputy Commissioner urged the police to conduct a thorough enquiry, intensify night patrolling and surveillance, identify all persons and vehicles involved, initiate stringent legal action under the relevant provisions of law and take necessary measures to ensure that the illegal dumping is stopped permanently.

Meanwhile, the CMC said it had initiated firm action to curb unauthorised C&D waste dumping at the site. Besides registering an FIR against those allegedly involved, the civic body said it had seized the vehicles used for the illegal dumping and was installing blue galvanised iron (GI) sheets to secure the area and prevent further unauthorised dumping.
