PNP: 51 nabbed for alleged violations at Sona rally

MANILA, Philippines — Fifty one individuals were arrested for alleged violations at a rally ahead of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s fifth State of the Nation Address (Sona) on Monday, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said.

“They were accosted because of violations of ordinances and special laws, particularly RA 9003, PD 880 and local ordinances, lalo na yung pagtatakip ng mukha,” PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. told reporters in an interview at the Batasan Police Station in Quezon City.

“Vandalism. Ang laki nung vinandalize nila. And yung nagtatakip ng mukha,” he added. /gsg
