The Gachibowli Traffic Police detected a vehicle plying with a fake registration number plate during the verification of a car involved in a drunken driving case, leading to the registration of a criminal case.

According to the police, the vehicle was initially found displaying the registration number TS 08 JY 1202. During verification, the police examined the Registration Certificate (RC) and cross-checked the engine and chassis numbers, which led them finding that the vehicle’s original registration number was TS 11 EZ 3815.

The police said the vehicle was being driven on roads with a forged registration number plate to conceal its original identity and evade legal action.

Based on the findings, the Gachibowli Traffic Police lodged a complaint with the Gachibowli Police Station, following which a criminal case was registered. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the motive behind the use of the fake registration plate and whether the vehicle had been involved in any other offences.

The Gachibowli Traffic Police cautioned motorists against using fake or tampered registration number plates, warning that strict legal action would be initiated against violators.
