If you're prone to losing your iPhone or iPad, or you keep cracking your Apple Watch screen – rejoice. AppleCare One is finally coming to the UK, helping you protect all your devices for less.

The new subscription, which launched in the US last year, lets you cover three or more Apple devices under a single monthly plan, and costs less than having to take out different AppleCare subscriptions for each individual device.

AppleCare One costs £16.99 per month for three devices, and you can add extra devices to the plan for £4.99 per month. It includes accidental damage cover for all your devices, as well as three claims for theft and loss for your iPhone, Apple Watch and iPad within a 12-month period.

Like AppleCare Plus, AppleCare One comes with unlimited repairs for accidental damage like drops and spills, 24/7 priority support from Apple’s technicians and battery replacements if your device's battery capacity falls below 80 per cent of its original capacity. You’ll still have to pay an excess for damage, theft and loss.

But how much could it actually save you? Doing the maths, if you take out an AppleCare Plus subscription with theft and loss for an iPhone 17 Pro, you'll pay £11.99 per month. To cover an Apple Watch Ultra, you’ll pay £5.99 per month. Protecting a 13in M5 iPad Pro will cost you £10.49 per month.

Taken together, those plans would cost you £28.47 per month in total, saving you £11.48 each month by opting for AppleCare One instead. Those are the maximum monthly savings – AppleCare Plus costs less for older devices.

Interestingly, Apple also says that eligible devices up to four years old can be added to a plan, provided they're in good condition. Previously, you only had 60 days from purchasing an Apple device to take out an AppleCare Plus subscription.

AppleCare One will launch on 4 August in the UK. If you're already paying for AppleCare Plus, you’ll be able to upgrade to AppleCare One from your iPhone, iPad or Mac, with your current AppleCare Plus plan automatically cancelling and porting over to the new AppleCare One plan.

If you trade in a covered device with Apple and buy a new eligible model, the old device will be automatically removed from the plan and replaced with the new device. Apple says you can remove and replace devices from your plan at any time.

Apple also announced that the regular AppleCare Plus with theft and loss protection will now also cover iPads and Apple Watches, covering up to two incidents of loss or theft in a single year.
