It's superyacht summer and stars across the Mediterranean have been spotted on multi-million pound vessels in locations from the French Riviera to the Amalfi Coast.

While it is undoubtedly one of the most glamorous ways to holiday, it comes with a seriously hefty price tag, with some boats costing up to £3million per week to charter.

Before buying their own superyacht, Seven, The Beckhams were spotted on a boat called Madsummer in 2022, which cost an eye-watering £1.6million a week.

Their son Brooklyn and his wife Nicola Peltz also chartered a boat with a hefty price tag last summer, when they were spotted on £1,025,000 per week, Project X.

Yachting is a popular choice for A-listers who don't have to lift a finger on fully crewed boats, sailing from one luxury destination to the next.

The Kardashians, Beyoncé and Jay Z and Leonardo DiCaprio are all regularly spotted aboard jaw-droppingly expensive yachts, opting to charter them for colossal sums of money rather than purchasing their own.

The Kardashians

The Kardashian sisters kick started the summer in the South of France, where Kim's boyfriend Lewis Hamilton was racing in the Monte Carlo F1 Grand Prix.

The trip was naturally an opulent affair – when they weren't at the grid watching Hamilton, they lounged aboard the £450,000 ($600,000) motor yacht, Naia.

While the base charter is already an incredible fee, guests can expect an additional 30-40 per cent of the price on paying for fuel, food, drinks, marina fees.

A typical tip for a week on the boat sits between 10 and 15 per cent, meaning they likely would have dropped at least £45,000 on gratuity.

For a yacht in this class, Naia has the sort of facilities associated with billionaire-level charter including helicopter landing capability, a gym and jacuzzi and eight cabins.

While on board they may have taken advantage of the massage facilities, extensive water toys and a hotel-style service provided by 20 crew members.

Since becoming the poster boy for the 2026 World Cup, Erling Haaland has been taking a well-earned break after leading Norway to the quarter finals.

Celebrating his 26th birthday at sea, Erling gathered his girlfriend Isabel Haugseng Johansen and a group of pals for a holiday in the Mediterranean.

The group were believed to be staying on Elis Et Mar, a yacht with a reported charter rate of around £225,000 ($300,000) per week.

There was plenty of room for Erling's friends on the high-end boat which sleeps 12 and boasts Vegas-style interior with yellow marble flooring.

On deck there's room for Erling to practise his golf swing and his free kicks.

The boat was originally launched in 2012 before undergoing an extensive refit in 2024.

Kevin Hart and his family took summer escape another level this month, when they holidayed on one of the Med's swankiest vessels, Axioma.

The comedian chartered the 236ft superyacht, which features expansive outdoor spaces, five-star interiors and a dedicated 20-person crew.

Highlights on the boat include a cinema, gym, spa facilities, a swimming pool and jacuzzi as well as generous entertaining spaces.

The boat represents a 'sweet spot' in the charter market, as it is large enough to offer complete privacy with resort-style amenities, while still being able to explore the Mediterranean’s most desirable destinations.

It does however come with a hefty bill, costing from £485,000 in low season, up to £540,000 in high season ($610,000-$680,000).

A total likely spend on the week including expenses is likely to cost between £700,000-£850,000.

Dua Lipa

Pop icon Dua welcomed summer 2025 with a series of sun-soaked snaps but it was the vessel in the background of her photos that is notable here.

Posing in front of the striking metallic-hulled Goldfinger, the singer offered fans a glimpse of Mediterranean glamour.

The vessel turned out to be a little smaller than the superyachts usually featured, but its distinctive design made it a classy choice for the star.

Goldfinger is a very different kind of celebrity yacht compared with the superyachts mentioned including Kismet, Naia and Project X.

Rather than dropping millions on a weeks charter, it is possible to rent Goldfinger for around £2,550 a day.

The T50 is not built around overnight luxury for weeks at sea. It is more like a premium Mediterranean day boat with two cabins and stylish entertaining spaces.

Rather than the vast 100-metre-plus floating resorts favoured by some celebrities, yachts in this category offer a more discreet way to experience the Mediterranean, with the flexibility to anchor in secluded bays and visit smaller ports.

The Sunseeker 95 can accommodate up to ten guests at a time and its charter rate is set at between £72,000 and £82,000 per week.

The yacht features a large flybridge with jacuzzi, bar and dining area, expansive sun pads, hydraulic swim platform as well as a selection of watertoys.

Paris Hilton was also enjoying a Mediterranean summer in 2025, enjoying an understated – but no less luxurious – trip aboard the sleek sailing catamaran Nalani.

The TV personality enjoyed a family escape in Sardinia with husband Carter Reum and their children, on the 80ft Sunreef yacht.

The dramatic black hull and contemporary styling was built by Polish shipyard Sunreef Yachts and delivered in 2022.

Nalani is part of the builder’s Eco range, designed around a more sustainable approach to luxury cruising.

The yacht incorporates solar technology into its design and combines quiet, efficient sailing with the spaciousness expected from a much larger vessel.

Charter rates for Nalani start at around £63,000 per week, before additional expenses such as fuel, provisions, marina fees, taxes and crew gratuity.

A realistic week-long charter budget would likely rise beyond £85,555 depending on the itinerary and onboard spending.

The Beckhams

Before they bought their own £15million boat, Seven, the Beckhams tended to charter yachts for their family summer holiday.

They clearly enjoyed the type of getaway so much they decided to invest in their own vessel, which was originally a 90ft boat costing around £5million in 2021.

They soon upgraded to a larger, 120ft vessel, which is thought to have set them back around £20million.

But long term, it could save the family some cash, as they previously holidayed on a £1.6million-per-week superyacht called Madsummer.

The boat, which was much larger than their personal boat at 311ft, included a swimming pool, cinema and a gym and offers guest accommodation for up to 12 people.

Last summer Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz holidayed on Project X, which dwarfs his parents boat with a price tag of £85million.

The amateur chef, 27, who is embroiled in a rift with his family, spent a week on the boat in St Tropez, which is chartered for £1.2million per week.

The 260ft luxury vessel was rented by Nicola's billionaire parents, who holidayed with the couple and the rest of the Peltz clan.

But Nicola could have paid for it herself as it's been reported she gets a hefty million dollar allowance from her father each month.

A realistic all-in budget for a week is therefore around £1.6–1.8 million, depending on cruising area, fuel usage, and onboard spending.

It is a yacht that illustrates the difference between a 'very expensive yacht' and the true billionaire superyacht tier.
