Natalia Yemchenko, Director for Public Relations and Communications at SCM, announced the visit on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

"Laura Loomer, a U.S. conservative influencer, visited a DTEK Group substation in the Kyiv region that was destroyed by a Russian missile strike in 2022. Thanks to support from the U.S. government, the facility was not only restored but also modernized," Yemchenko wrote.

She noted that the substation now supplies electricity and heating to 20,000 Ukrainian households.

According to Yemchenko, Loomer saw firsthand the conditions in which Ukrainian energy workers operate and how their work has become both highly dangerous and critically important during the war.

"We showed that we are not only rebuilding Ukraine's energy infrastructure but also creating new, state-of-the-art solutions. One such project is the first digital distribution substation that DTEK is constructing during the war using equipment supplied by GE Vernova, one of the largest U.S. manufacturers of power equipment," Yemchenko said.

She also expressed her respect and gratitude to Loomer for her willingness to visit Ukraine despite the risks and to witness the consequences of Russian attacks, including their impact on Ukraine's energy sector.

Loomervisits Lavra after Russian attack

As reported by Ukrinform, Laura Loomer arrived in Ukraine on July 21. She said she had previously been influenced by Russian propaganda but is now urging Washington to provide Ukraine with more missiles for Patriot air defense systems.
