Two pedestrians are fighting for life after a driver in his 80s ploughed into the pair at a busy intersection in Sydney’s south-west.

Shocking footage shows the moment a car collided with the man and the woman on The Boulevarde in Lakemba just before 1pm on Tuesday.

The video also shows others scrambling off the road and narrowly escaping being struck before the white van veers into two cars.

A woman, believed to be in her 30s, was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to Liverpool Hospital, while a man, believed to be in his 60s, was treated for head injuries and taken to St George Hospital.

Both are in a critical condition.

The driver, an 82-year-old man, was treated by paramedics and taken to hospital for mandatory testing.
