MANILA, Philippines – Opposition lawmakers from the Senate and the House of Representatives will deliver their respective Kontra-Sona speeches Tuesday, July 28, 2026, following President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s fifth State of the Nation Address (Sona).
They are expected to give their own assessment of the administration’s performance and presenting an alternative view of the country’s condition.
The counter-addresses are expected to challenge several of the President’s key declarations during Monday’s Sona, particularly on issues on corruption, economic reforms, governance, public services and social welfare.
