MOSCOW, July 28. /TASS/. Given their combat capabilities, nuclear submarines make a significant contribution to ensuring Russia’s security, Russian Navy Commander-in-Chief Admiral Alexander Moiseyev said.
Earlier in the day, Russia’s Sevmash Shipyard floated out the latest Project Yasen-M multi-purpose nuclear-powered submarine Ulyanovsk.
"Nuclear submarines, including those of this class, now form the backbone of our submarine fleet and will continue to do so in the near future. Given their combat capabilities, they make a significant contribution to ensuring our country’s security. We are capable of building them in accordance with the plans and timelines set forth in our programs, and we are witnessing annual keel-layings and ship launches from the dry dock. Of course, this is thanks to Sevmash’s expertise and vast experience," he said.
