Martin del Rosario’s dad Robert in ICU but now safe after heart surgery
Martin del Rosario heaved a sigh of relief after his father, Robert del Rosario, underwent a successful heart bypass surgery and is now safe.
Martin, who earlier appealed for blood honors for his dad, gave an update on the latter’s condition during the actor‘s interview in “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” on Tuesday, July 28.
“Nasa ICU (intensive care unit) pa rin ‘yung dad ko… Nag-undergo siya ng quintuple heart bypass. Ngayon okay na siya, safe na siya sa ICU,” he said.

Martin expressed his gratitude to those who have extended help, especially to the medical team of his dad whom he described as “life savers.”
“Fatal ‘yun e, ‘yung limang bara. Usually, ‘yung tatlong bara nakakamatay na. Nakuha namin nang maaga ‘yung sa dad namin,” he said of Robert’s artery blockages.
Martin then noted that they need 10 more bags of blood from 10 donors.
“Kailangan ko ng 16 bags of blood kasi nanghiram lang kami ng blood sa heart center… As of now, need pa namin ng—naka-six pa lang e, so mga sampu pa,” he added. “Sobrang laking tulong na ‘yun for us, ‘yung makapag-donate kayo ng blood.”
Meanwhile, Del Rosario is currently promoting his upcoming Cinemalaya queer film “Tayo Lang Ang Nakakaalam” where he stars alongside Miguel Odron, Yayo Aguila, Epy Quizon, Madeleine Nicolas, and Bodjie Pascua, among others.
His father is the brother of GMA news anchor Connie Sison. /edv
