Apple TV has released the full trailer for Ted Lasso Season 4, offering the clearest look yet at the beloved comedy’s long-awaited return after a three-year break.

The new footage reunites Jason Sudeikis with familiar faces at AFC Richmond while steering the series into largely uncharted territory. Having left England at the end of Season 3 to reunite with his son in Kansas, Ted finds himself back in Richmond, this time taking charge of the club’s women’s team as it prepares for life in the second division.

Set to Mumford & Sons’ “Run Together,” the trailer blends the show’s trademark optimism with the challenges of building a brand-new squad from the ground up. Ted’s unconventional coaching methods once again clash with expectations, while Roy Kent, Rebecca Welton, Keeley Jones, Coach Beard and Leslie Higgins all return to support the club’s latest chapter. The preview suggests the series will retain its heartfelt humour while shifting its focus from rebuilding a men’s football club to establishing a competitive women’s side.

Season 4 also introduces several new cast members, including Tanya Reynolds, Faye Marsay, Jude Mack, Aisling Sharkey and Rex Hayes, who will join the expanding world of AFC Richmond. Apple has positioned the new season as a fresh beginning rather than a continuation of the story that concluded in 2023, with the women’s team becoming the emotional and sporting centre of the series.

Created by Jason Sudeikis, Bill Lawrence, Brendan Hunt and Joe Kelly, Ted Lasso became one of Apple TV’s defining originals, earning multiple Emmy Awards, including back-to-back wins for Outstanding Comedy Series. Its return marks one of the streamer’s biggest television events of the year.

Ted Lasso Season 4 premieres on August 5 on Apple TV, with new episodes releasing weekly.
