Angelina Jolie, Robert De Niro, more celebs’ contact details exposed in data leak
The contact information of several Hollywood celebrities, including Angelina Jolie, Robert De Niro, Kate Hudson and Jennifer Lawrence was exposed through a leaked database associated with the **Tribeca Film Festival. **
The publicly accessible and unsecured databases were discovered by cybersecurity researcher Jeremiah Fowler, as per his blog released on ExpressVPN last Saturday, July 25. Fowler disclosed that the data included over 660,000 records—among which were images, email addresses, phone numbers, IP addresses, hashed passwords, press kits, marketing materials, and documents from 2019 to 2026.
Other celebrities whose contact information was found in the database were those of Morgan Freeman, Michael Douglas, Winona Ryder, Neil Patrick Harris, Naomi Watts, Hilary Duff, Don Cheadle, Debra Messing, Rami Malek, Eva Mendes, Michael J. Fox, Sharon Stone, Martin Scorsese, Francis Ford Coppola, Guillermo del Toro, George Lucas, Ron Howard, Danny Boyle, Patty Jenkins, and many more.

Fowler said the file names indicated that the records belonged to Tribeca Film Festival, which was co-founded by De Niro. The researcher though noted that it was not immediately known whether the film festival or a third-party service provider manages the database.
“It is not known how long the database may have been publicly accessible before my discovery or whether anyone else may have accessed the exposed information and contact details of thousands of directors, actors, and attendees. Only an internal forensic investigation could determine whether any additional access occurred and establish the timeline of the exposure,” he added.
Fowler has already alerted the film festival organizers about the matter, with the latter expressing appreciation for the researcher’s “responsible disclosure.”
“Tribeca takes matters of data security very seriously and is actively investigating this issue,” it said.
The organization further asserted in a separate statement, “None of the talent referenced in recent reporting had personal contact information disclosed. The vast majority of the information consisted of public-facing business contact information, including PR representatives, talent representatives, front office email addresses, information from the Festival website, and other information that was already publicly available. All information was removed promptly upon discovery.” /edv
