A tree has fallen on a playground injuring a parent and child at a popular inner-city park in Brisbane.

Fire crews, ambulance and police responded to the incident at Guyatt Park in St Lucia about 6pm on Wednesday.

A weekly community dinner run by Greens MPs Elizabeth Watson-Brown and Michael Berkman was taking place nearby. Neither were in attendance.

Queensland Ambulance Service confirmed four crews were at the scene, but could not comment on the condition of those affected by the incident.
