MOSCOW, July 29. /TASS/. Over 9,000 combat training sessions have been held at the Moscow Military District's (MMD) training grounds since the beginning of this summer, including about 6,500 during the day and over 2,500 at night, the MMD press service reported.

"Over 9,000 combat training sessions have been held at the Moscow Military District's training grounds since the beginning of the summer training period. In just two months, about 6,500 sessions were held during the day and over 2,500 at night," the statement reads.

During the drills, service members are practicing the full cycle of air defense and the protection of critical facilities from air attack weapons, where over 2,500 aerial targets simulating enemy unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have been destroyed to date. Firing was conducted at air and ground targets using smoothbore rifles, assault rifles, and twin and heavy machine guns.

Assault teams practice capturing and clearing strongpoints, moving across the battlefield, working in small tactical groups, and providing first aid under fire. UAV operators are learning to operate various types of drones - from reconnaissance to attack FPV systems - as well as their combat use and interaction with assault units. Joint artillery crew and unmanned systems exercises to practice reconnaissance and fire adjustment are held at the training grounds.

Driver-mechanics have begun training in driving tanks and infantry fighting vehicles in which they will learn to navigate steep slopes, ravines, track bridges, and minefields, as well as practice moving in convoys, emergency braking, and obstacle avoidance.
