The Telangana government will be submitting by this month comprehensive project report pertaining to four industrial parks it is proposing to establish, at different locations near Hyderabad, under the Centre’s Bharat Audyogik Vikas Yojana (BHAVYA) scheme.
Each park would span more than 500 acres and land acquisition as well as other necessary arrangements for establishing them have been completed. The parks will come up in Thimmapur of Kandukur Mandal, Eliminedu in Ibrahimpatnam, Madaram in Ghatkesar Mandal and Dandu Mailaram in Choutuppal Mandal. Several well known companies have already come forward to set up units in the sectors such as electronics and software in these parks, the State government said on Wednesday after a review meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju.
The comprehensive project report regarding the four parks under the first phase of the BHAVYA scheme will be submitted to the Centre by the end of this month, Mr.Jaju said in a release. Senior officials, including Principal Secretary Ahmad Nadeem, Special Secretary-Industries and Commerce Krishna Aditya, Director of Industries Nikhil Chakravarthy and Special Secretary to the Finance Department Sikta Patnaik, participated in the meeting.
In addition to the four industrial parks, proposals are being formulated to establish industrial parks in 16 other locations, the Chief Secretary said.
₹33,660 crore financial outlay
Releasing the operational guidelines for implementation of the BHAVYA Scheme in May, the Centre’s Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, said the scheme is aimed at developing investment-ready, world-class industrial parks across the country. The scheme provides for development of 100 industrial parks over a period of six years from 2026-27 to 2031-32 with a total financial outlay of ₹33,660 crore. In the first phase, up to 50 industrial parks will be taken up through a challenge-based competitive selection process.
The major focus of the Scheme is on creation of ‘investment-ready’ industrial ecosystems with plug-and-play infrastructure, multimodal logistics connectivity, reliable utility systems, worker-support infrastructure, digital governance systems and sustainable development features.
The guidelines provide for development of both greenfield and eligible brownfield industrial parks. Minimum land requirements have been prescribed at 100 acres for non-hilly states and 25 acres for hilly states, northeastern states, Union Territories and smaller states. The Scheme also permits consideration of larger parks up to 1,000 acres.
