The Railway Protection Force (RPF) has seized 204 grams of heroin worth an estimated ₹41.8 lakh at Aluva railway station and detained two men from Assam during a joint anti-narcotics operation. The seizure was made as part of “Operation Narcos”, a nationwide anti-drug drive, conducted jointly by the Crime Intelligence Branch (CIB) of the RPF, Thiruvananthapuram, and the RPF, Aluva, under the directions of Senior Divisional Security Commissioner Mohammed Hanifa.

The accused, identified as Nazir Uddin (33) and Kausar Ahmed Majumdar (32), were intercepted on Platform No. 1 after arriving on the Dibrugarh–Kanyakumari Express (Train No. 22504). During the inspection, RPF personnel found a Microtek inverter in the men’s possession to be unusually light. On opening it, they discovered crystal-like narcotic substance concealed inside the equipment.

The accused and the seized drug were handed over to the Government Railway Police (GRP), Ernakulam South, for further investigation. A case will be registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
