According to Ukrinform, the Office of the Prosecutor General announced the new charges.
"Viktor Medvedchuk has been notified of a new suspicion. He is accused of encroaching on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine, as well as justifying, recognizing as lawful, and denying Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine, committed by a group of persons acting in prior conspiracy," the statement said.
According to the investigation, between 2023 and 2026, Medvedchuk conducted a systematic anti-Ukrainian information campaign. He allegedly participated in propaganda television programs, promoted Kremlin narratives, denied Russia's aggression, questioned Ukraine's sovereignty, and justified the actions of the aggressor state.
Investigators say that in November 2025, Medvedchuk gave an interview to journalist Thomas Röper for the NuoFlix YouTube channel.
"During the interview, he publicly supported the so-called 'incorporation' of Ukraine into the Russian Federation, effectively calling for the elimination of Ukraine as an independent state," the Prosecutor General's Office said.
According to investigators, Medvedchuk also arranged for the interview to be published on the website of the propaganda media project Drugaya Ukraina (Another Ukraine), which he controls.
The Prosecutor General's Office noted that the platform was created on the basis of a public organization of the same name that Medvedchuk registered in Russia in September 2023. Investigators say the resource is used to disseminate anti-Ukrainian content and Russian propaganda.
The office also said that in 2023, Medvedchuk appeared on Belarusian television channels STV and CTV, where he publicly justified Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine, which began in 2014.
He has been charged under Part 2 of Article 110, Part 2 of Article 28, and Part 3 of Article 436-2 of Ukraine's Criminal Code.
The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators from the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) office in the Ivano-Frankivsk region.
