For several weeks, Morgan Wallen waited in the wings on the Country Airplay chart, Billboard’s toughest radio roster to rule. His latest single, “Don’t We,” remained stationary at No. 2 behind Jason Aldean’s historic “Don’t Tell on Me,” which ruled for multiple periods.
Now, Aldean falls and Wallen earns yet another leader as “Don’t We” rises to the peak position. The superstar moves higher on the list of country acts that have scored the most champions on the Country Airplay chart, breaking out of a tie with two fellow solo male stars and matching another pair.
Morgan Wallen Scores His Twenty-First No. 1
“Don’t We” becomes Wallen’s twenty-first No. 1 on the Country Airplay chart as it ascends one rung. The single is also his second new leader of 2026. “20 Cigarettes” climbed to the summit back in February and stayed there for two weeks.

Morgan Wallen Passes Brad Paisley and Luke Combs
Just one frame ago, Wallen was matched with Brad Paisley and Luke Combs, as all three musicians had accumulated an even 20 leaders on the Country Airplay chart. Together, they jointly claimed the tenth-most champions in the history of the ranking.
“Don’t We” pushes Wallen ahead of both Paisley and Combs. With 21 No. 1 hits, he is now on the same level as Keith Urban and Thomas Rhett. Wallen, Urban and Rhett share the distinction of owning the eighth-most rulers of all time on the Country Airplay chart.
Kenny Chesney Remains Far Ahead of Every Other Star
Kenny Chesney continues to lead all artists with 33 No. 1 hits on the Country Airplay chart. Blake Shelton is the only other artist to reach 30 champions, with an even 30 to his credit.
Tim McGraw and Aldean come next with 29 and 27 winners, respectively. Aldean only recently reached that figure with “Don’t Tell on Me,” which brought him another historic victory before making room for Wallen. When Aldean’s single first reached the top space, it allowed him to break out of a tie with Alan Jackson, George Strait and Luke Bryan.
Morgan Wallen Converts Almost Every Top 10 Into a No. 1
Wallen’s track record of turning Country Airplay top 10 hits into No. 1 singles is particularly impressive. All but three of his songs that have reached the highest region have gone on to conquer the roster for at least one frame. “I Can’t Love You Anymore,” his recent collaboration with Ella Langley, has climbed as high as No. 2. “Everything I Love” stalled at No. 3, while “One Thing at a Time” peaked at No. 8.
Morgan Wallen Controls the Top Two
Wallen currently occupies the highest two spaces on the Country Airplay chart. “Don’t We” rules the ranking, while “I Can’t Love You Anymore” climbs to a new all-time high of No. 2.
There is a real possibility that Wallen will replace himself in the penthouse in the coming weeks. Should “I Can’t Love You Anymore” advance by only one more space, the Grammy nominee will immediately collect his twenty-second leader. Such a victory would push Wallen ahead of Urban and Rhett, whom he only just matched with “Don’t We.” It would also give Langley her fifth No. 1 on the Country Airplay chart.
