Dingdong Dantes open to ‘The Master Cutter,’ ‘Sigabo’ crossover with Coco Martin

Dingdong Dantes said he is open to the possibility of a crossover between his GMA primetime series “The Master Cutter” and Coco Martin’s ABS-CBN action-drama “Sigabo.”

Dantes was asked about the idea during an endorsement event for an AI-powered energy storage brand on Wednesday, July 29, as they both headline competing primetime action dramas.

While he did not confirm whether discussions about a crossover are underway, Dantes welcomed the concept.

“Why not? Hindi ko masasagot pa ’yon sa ngayon, pero napakagandang idea niyan,” he said.

In “The Master Cutter,” Dantes plays a former scout ranger who lives a double life as a tailor by day and bounty hunter by night.

Martin, on the other hand, leads “Sigabo” with real-life partner Julia Montes. The story follows Gabo, a former convict granted parole after eight years in prison.

The Kapuso actor was also asked about his recent meeting with Martin, where they discussed an upcoming project for AKTOR PH, the League of Filipino Actors.

Dantes declined to reveal more details about the project, saying Martin should make the announcement himself.

“Gusto ko man mag-share ng details pero ayaw ko muna i-spoil ang details dahil magkakaroon siya ng separate announcement,” he said.

“Excited na ako maibahagi ’yon very soon, pero for now, pinag-uusapan na namin ang detalye at nasa planning stage, at gusto ko siya ang mag-announce,” Dantes added.

When asked if he would also be involved in the upcoming initiative, Dantes praised Martin for conceptualizing the project.

“Ang idea na ’to ay nanggaling sa kanya, at bilib na bilib talaga ako sa kanyang dedication at sa kanyang utak sa mga ganitong bagay na para talaga sa industriya. Ramdam na ramdam mo talaga ang kanyang pagmamahal at dedikasyon,” said the Kapuso actor.
