A 12-year-old boy who died after falling through the roof of a derelict barn while playing with friends has been pictured.
Jaxon Robert Hubery plunged from the building in Woodhouses, near Bishop Auckland, County Durham, shortly before 2.45pm last Friday.
He sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle, where he died on Tuesday.
Durham Police said it is working with the Health and Safety Executive to establish the circumstances of the tragedy.
Jaxon's mother, Kirsty Anne Hubery, said she is 'absolutely broken' by her son's death in an emotional tribute to him on Facebook, adding that the family had the 'biggest part of us ripped away too soon'.
She also confirmed that Jaxon fell through the roof of the barn, contrary to initial reports that he plunged off it.
The mother vowed to 'fight for justice' for her son, claiming land owners 'failed to address' the 'unsafe' barn for decades, with nothing to stop children gaining access to the property.
'We have just been so unlucky it was our boy we are absolutely broken as a family, we have had the biggest part of us ripped away too soon but we will fight for justice for our boy and make sure nothing like this happens again,' she wrote.
Jaxon's father, Jonny Hubery, revealed the couple were forced to cancel their wedding due to their son's injuries while he was in hospital.
