Iran says negotiations with Oman remain under way in Tehran as efforts continue to address the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and disruption to global shipping.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said Iranian and Omani officials had held several rounds of discussions since talks began last week, including further meetings on Thursday.
Baghaei blamed US and Israeli military operations for destabilising the vital waterway.
“What is clear is that currently, the Strait of Hormuz is closed due to American actions and the insecurity that America has imposed on this waterway,” Baghaei told the ILNA news agency.
“International shipping is being harmed and damaged solely because of American actions.”
