If you’re a fan of summer, sorry to tell you that September is almost here. But it’s good news if you’ve been hoping for the next series of Samsung tablets.

Samsung just confirmed that the Galaxy Tab S12 is coming. While no date has been given, it’s likely the series will show up next month, since a Galaxy Tab series has been released every September since 2009.

The news broke on Samsung’s third-quarter earnings call. Daniel Araujo, Corporate Vice President of the Mobile eXperience Planning Group, was asked about the impact of the RAM shortage.

In response, Araujo said: “To manage this [financial difficulty], we’re focused on maintaining strong sales momentum of the S26 series, while ensuring the successful launch of new premium products coming out in the second half, such as the new foldable series, Tab S12, and Watch Ultra 2.”

Plus model is already in the FCC database

A few days ago, Notebookcheck reported that a cellular variant of the high-end Galaxy Tab S12+ has been entered in the FCC database, clearing it for release in the US.

The device bears the model number SM-X848U, and the listing shows that it will support 5G, LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth, and GNSS connectivity. It also has an S Pen and microSD card support.

It’s likely that the Galaxy Tab S12 series will come with One UI 9 installed.

The biggest rumor around the series is that there will be no base model. Instead, Samsung is said to be releasing a Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and a Galaxy Tab S12+, which would be the premium model.

The Galaxy Tab S12+ is expected to have a 12.4-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display a Dimensity 9500+ chip with 12GB RAM, up to 512GB storage, and a 10,500mAh-plus battery. Both the tablet itself and the included S Pen are rumored to have an IP68 rating for dust- and water-resistance.
